Open MRI of Sheboygan, LLC.: Now open
April 25, 2002 – Sheboygan, Wisconsin and the surrounding communities now have an Open MRI service available. The clinic, which opened its doors April 15, is located just off of Interstate 43 on the corner of North Taylor Dr. and Superior Ave. in Sheboygan. The MRI equipment is General Electric Medical System’s newest and most advanced Open MRI scanner. This scanner, which is the only one in the state of Wisconsin, is designed for all patients including claustrophobic, children and larger individuals.
Open MRI of Sheboygan is significant to the community for several reasons. The first is that until now, the closest Open MRI scanners were in Milwaukee and Green Bay. Patients desiring or needing an Open MRI were required to spend a significant amount of time and money just getting to and from these facilities. Now that it is no longer necessary to leave the area for these services, patients may be in the clinic for an examination and back to work or home in an hour.
The second important aspect of Open MRI of Sheboygan is their independence. Medical care can often and unfortunately become politicized because of competing hospitals and health networks. Open MRI of Sheboygan has decided to be a neutral party with the ability to care for all of the patients in this area. The goal of patient care is provided with no discrimination as to which doctor, hospital or clinic that the patient is being sent from.
Most importantly, Open MRI of Sheboygan will be providing the highest quality MRI examinations in a setting that is convenient and comfortable for the patient. The large scanner opening along with a bright and friendly examination room eases any fears of claustrophobia and even allows a friend or loved one to sit with the patient during the exam. The patient will receive the same quality scan now available in traditional, small and closed tunnel MRI’s, but with the benefit of being in a friendly environment.
The radiologists at Open MRI of Sheboygan are all certified by the American Board of Radiology. These radiologists are specialists in interpreting the MRI scans and are always available for consultation.
Open MRI of Sheboygan is excited to be a part of the Sheboygan community and looks forward to serving the needs of both the medical professionals and their patients.
